The Choli

choli It can be awkward when you try on your choli for the first time. It sort of slips and slides about and can be hard to put on. I have found the best way is to leave the neck ties done up. Then slip the choli over your head and tie the back ties.

The neck ties are very important. Not only because they stop the choli from sliding off your shoulders, but also because they play a key role in the fit of your choli. Now that you are wearing your choli, look at how the V-neckline sits. If the neckline is a bit baggy, tighten the neck ties. If you have big diagonal lines running from your armpit to your shoulder, then your neck ties are probably too tight. Keep on adjusting the neck ties until you get the best fit. Once you have done that - never undo them! I always leave mine tied up, even when washing my cholis.

Also, the choli is supposed to fit snugly under your boobs. That way it lifts and provides nice bust support. Tie the back ties snugly, but not so tight that you cannot lift your chest in correct tribal posture. When it feels about right, lift your arms right up in the air and check that it stays in place under your boobs and does not ride up. If it does, tie it a little tighter and test again. I only ever tie my choli back ties in a simple bow. There is no need for pins or double knots. The panne velvet grips itself quite nicely, and I have never had a problem with my choli coming loose. (I always wear my cholis for practice).

To wash your choli - just throw it in the washing machine. No need to iron.

And if you are going to be wearing a big turban, put your choli on before you make your turban!

I hope your enjoy wearing your new choli!!
